75、沦敦玩梗溯源：圣瑟里斯烛“蜡烛照亮你睡觉的路，你的脑袋也要小心刀斧”

　　来自历史悠久的童谣《橘子与柠檬》，这首童谣最早收录于1744年出版的《拇指汤米童谣集》，英国人叫它儿歌Nursery Rhymes，我们也许更熟悉另一个名字，《鹅妈妈童谣》。《橘子与柠檬》这首童谣将整个伦敦的教堂唱了进去。有许多的版本，其中一个版本为（译者未找到）：

　　Gay go up and gay go down, To ring the bells of London Town.

　　欢乐地摇下又摇上，伦敦的钟儿响当当。

　　Bull\'s eyes and targets, Say the bells of St. Margret\'s.

　　提到枪靶和靶心，就数大钟圣马格丽特。

　　Brickbats and tiles, Say the bells of St. Giles\'.

　　提到瓦片和砖头，就数大钟圣吉尔斯。

　　Oranges and lemons, Say the bells of St. Clement\'s.

　　提到橘子和柠檬，就数大钟圣克雷门。

　　Pan cakes and fritters, Say the bells of St. Peter\'s.

　　提到糕饼和馅饼，就数大钟圣彼德。

　　Two sticks and an apple, Say the bells at Whitechapel.

　　两根木棒一颗苹果，那就是大钟白教堂。

　　提到光头老神父，就想到大钟阿得盖特。

　　我也不太清楚，似是大钟包伍的回应。

　　When I am old, Say the bells at St. Paul’s.

　　应该是我老的时候吧，说话的像是大钟圣保罗。

　　Here comes a candle to light you to bed,

　　蜡烛点燃时你该上床睡觉去

　　Here comes a chopper to chop off your head.

　　当心刀斧要你的命!

　　童谣还有一个与之对应的游戏：两个玩家面对面举起手做成拱门的形状，另外的玩家两两组成一队，所有人一起唱着歌快速从拱门底下通过，当歌曲唱到最后一段当心刀斧时，拱门玩家会立刻放下手臂截住通过的玩家，如果被逮住了，就会出局。出局的玩家接在拱门之后，形成新的拱门，随着游戏的继续，通过速度必须越来越快。
