Pukia:“See, I don't hold grudges. After how you treated me, still.(你看我,一点儿都不记仇。
Pukia:“Oh my, what a coincidence! Good morning, Professors Beige!(天啊,多巧!
Ms. Beige:“Good morning! Nice to see you out! Is it back to normal? Did Edward emancipate you? Where is he now?(早上好!
Pukia:“He never locked us down.(他没有不让我们出来过。)”
Mr. Beige:“So what exactly is going on? Did he finally disband the group? You studied psychology under him, so you are technically my student, too. You of all people should know this is wrong! This is completely unethical! Psychology is a science, and it should be treated and applied as a science! It’s the first thing taught in class. He was once my star student. I cannot believe he ended up doing this! He has brought nothing but shame on me!(所以现在是怎么一回事?
Pukia:“Dr. Beige, you’ve got it all wrong. We are helping people. This is just an extension, an innovation of psychology. You’ve always had this prejudice against us, like we’re out there hurting people. We provide food, clothes, and shelter for those who have nowhere else to go; they learn, they work, they find their inner peace there. We are saving them!(Dr. Beiger你们误会了。
Mr. Beige:“You can save your breath. I know exactly what’s going on. You are using them, you are the exploiters! This whole thing—the Lord, the Guardian—it’s a complete farce, a bunch of cheap tricks! Look into your conscience. You think you can fool us? Where is Edward? I want to speak to him directly!(你不用在这里信口雌黄,我知道是怎么回事。
Pukia:“Dr. Bennett-”
Mr. Beige:“Don't call him 'Dr'. He doesn't deserve it. Now, where is he? Take us to him. I am responsible for my student, and I am responsible for these people, too.(别叫他‘博士’,他不配被叫“博士”。
Pukia:“I don't know, I don't know where he is.(我也不知道,我不知道他在哪儿。)”
Mr. Beige:“Yes, you do. I know how close you are to him. Take me to him, now. He’s forgotten everything. He’s forgotten who he is, and he's probably forgotten me, too! The only thing he cares about now is playing God!(你怎么不知道,我知道你们很亲近。
Pukia:“But I really don't know.(可是我真的不知道。)”
Pukia
Mr. Beige:“OK, suit yourself. I should probably just head straight to his 'Silver Orbit'. We were outnumbered last time, but this time I'm bringing everyone to see what a cautionary tale he has turned himself into, living on fraud and lies! His believers should know the truth. They deserve to know!(不知道,好,你嘴这么硬,那我们还是直接去‘明月屯’好了。
Pukia:“No, it's not like that. All he wants to do is to save people—that's his only aspiration. No matter what he calls himself, that's his only intention, just like yours.(怎么会呢?
Mr. Beige:“How dare you compare him to us? Are you that evil, or are you completely brainwashed? You are an educated young woman, don't you have your own judgement?(你把他跟我们比?
Pukia:“Dr. Beige-”
Sophia!
Pukia:“Oh that's bad.
Pukia:“She needs help.(她需要帮助。)”
Ms. Beige:“Ma'am, I know you are very frustrated. I would be too if I were you. Do you want to sit down and talk it out? I’m an old woman with a lot of time. I’m willing to be the mediator and I believe together we can work this out.(女士,我完全理解你的愤怒。
