【My dad has agreed. I will fly back to Los Angeles tomorrow.】(我爸同意了,我明天的飞机回洛杉矶。)
【Really? Seriously? Great! I'm waiting for you! Tell you, tomorrow you will also receive a gift - it's definitely going to be a pleasant surprise.】(真的假的!!
“Serena, good morning.”(Serena,早。)他笑容温和,“There's still about an hour left. Let's go to the library first and then quickly go over the key points?”(还有一个多小时,我们先去图书馆再快速过一遍重点?) “Oh, you seem to be even more focused on my make-up exam than I am.”(啊,你对我的补考怎么比我还上心。) “Let's aim for a perfect score this time. Repeating the study material several times will definitely be beneficial.”(争取这次一遍过嘛,多复习几遍总有好处。)
“Don't worry. You did a great job practicing yesterday. You'll definitely perform well if you follow through normally.”(别紧张,你昨天练得很好,正常发挥肯定没问题。) “Well, I'll do my best.”(嗯,我尽力。)
Most of the questions are of the type that you helped me practice yesterday. I should be able to pass.”(感觉…… “Then it's all set.”(那不就稳了。) “I really appreciate all your help these past few days.”(这阵子真的太谢谢你了,)沈若斐真诚开口,“How about I treat you to lunch as a token of gratitude?”(中午我请你吃饭吧,就当谢礼。) Ryan愣了下,随即笑起来:“OK, as you say.”(好啊,听你的。)
“It was agreed that I would pay for it.”(说好了我请的。) “Next time,”(下次吧,)Ryan被她可爱的语气绕得心神一动,也笑着回应:“Have a good time after the exam. This meal is my way of celebrating your successful completion of the test.”(考完试开心,这顿算我庆祝你顺利过关。)

“The teacher has instructed that a total of ten complete design drafts should be submitted this time. The deadline is tight, so we need to hurry up.”(老师要求这次一共交十张完整设计稿,时间不算松,我们得抓紧。)
“Let's all draw together. After that we discuss it.”(大家一起画,画完再碰头。)
“Wow, Serena is so fast!”(哇,学姐好快!)Linny忍不住惊叹。 “The details are handled very well and the placement of the patterns is just right.”(细节处理得好舒服,花纹位置也刚刚好。)
沈若斐笑了笑,把草稿一一发给另外三人,耐心指点:“The waistline here can be made a little tighter to enhance the proportion; the clouds on the cuffs should not be too large; a smaller area of decoration would be more elegant...”(这里的腰线可以再收一点,更显比例;袖口的祥云别太大,小面积点缀更高级……)
“Go have dinner first. We've been busy all afternoon.”(大家先去吃饭吧,忙了一下午。)
“Why didn't you go for dinner?”(怎么没去吃饭?) I'm just not hungry for the moment. Moreover, the brother of my host family's family is having his birthday tomorrow. His mother has assigned me the task of cooking at home. I haven't decided yet what to make and I'm a bit confused.”(没事,就是暂时不饿。
Ryan看她一个人待在安静的工作室里,又是个和她相处的好时机,于是轻声道:“Just sitting here and thinking is boring. Let me take you for a drive. Go out and have some fun. Then your thoughts will become clearer.”(一直坐着想也闷,我带你出去兜兜风吧,放松一下,思路反而清楚。)
“Serena,”Ryan忽然开口,声音被海风揉得很轻,“Do you know? You are quite unique at school.”(你知道吗,你在学校里其实挺特别的。)
“A typical and attractive Chinese face, highly recognizable.”(典型又好看的中国面孔,很有辨识度。)Ryan目光坦然,语气真诚,“It's either that kind of beauty that deliberately caters to someone else, or your own unique charm - quiet, serious, very powerful, and not at all inferior to the American girls around you.”(不是那种刻意迎合谁的美,就是你自己的气质,安静、认真、很有力量,一点不输身边的美国女孩。)
Thanks.”
听着她纠结明天该做什么菜,Ryan忽然笑了,轻声点醒她: “In fact, you don't need to rack your brains trying to figure out what he might like. Since Toby's mother has entrusted the cooking task to you, it shows her trust in you. You can definitely showcase your strongest skills.”(其实你不用绞尽脑汁去想他可能喜欢什么。
他顿了顿,继续道:“Nowadays, many Americans are fond of Chinese cuisine, especially the home-cooked but carefully-prepared ones. All you need to do is to ask Toby's father in advance about his dietary restrictions, allergies, and what he likes to eat. Then, follow his preferences and prepare your best dish. That would already be the best outcome.”(现在很多美国人都很喜欢中餐,尤其是家常但用心做的。
