5、诗和远方

　　Good afternoon, everyone. I’m Sachiko. Do you know that there once was a very popular sentence, which is life is not only about the struggling in front, it also includes poem and distance.
　　So today my topic is poem and distance. I don’t mean to give you something like “heart soup”, I’m just going to share something about me.
　　I like writing and I wanted to be a writer when I was a little child. So I began to write when I was very young. In 2006, I began to choose my university and major. I wanted to study screenwriting or literature, but all my family members disagreed. They forced me to study medical science, so I went to China university of mining technology. I studied biomedical engineering there. However, this major was canceled by our university, then we had to choose another major. Finally, very dramatically, I got my bachelor’s degree in computer science and technology.
　　After graduation, I worked for a big Taiwan electronic company, and my responsibility was to write codes under the DOS system. Those codes were used for testing new computers and mobile-phones. It was so boring that I gave it up only one month later. Then I went to Guangzhou to work for a new company. It was a great challenge for me, because I needed to do almost everything there. I did buying, I did selling, and I also worked as their accountant. I got a lot of practice and experience there. However, I thought I should have a higher degree, so I quit my job. After that I paid all my attention on studying.
　　In 2012, I went to china university of petroleum, and I studied petroleum geology there. I enjoyed a good time there with my friends, we took part in sporting games, we played volleyball, we played basketball, we cooked together, and we went hiking together.
　　Unfortunately, petroleum has nothing to do with my pre-major. I knew nothing about petroleum, I knew nothing about geology, either. What’s worse, my subject was to build a 3D model for an oil field, so I had a really tough time with my academic. Anyway, due to the help of my supervisor and all my friends, I finally finished my models. I published my paper, and I got my master’s degree.
　　After that, I received an offer from a big foreign oil company, but I gave up because I didn’t want to stay in Egypt for 3 years. At the same time, my last boss came to me and told me that he wanted to establish a new company in Shanghai. So he needed someone to take over his Guangzhou company. As a result, I became the general manager of his Guangzhou company. Our company does business about marine equipment, such as life-saving equipment and fire-fighting equipment. As a general manager, I was very busy almost every day and had so many telephone calls. I didn’t have time to do what I like. Last September, I suddenly found out that lifestyle was not what I want.
　　And why didn’t I go to live the way I want, do what I like So again, I gave up my job at the beginning of this year even though it provided me a very high salary. My life should include poem and distance.
　　Now I have my own company. It studies Chinese classical literature and Chinese history. We write and publish what we write online. I keep writing and learning. I write everyday even though maybe just hundreds of words. And I also keep learning, I’m learning English, philosophy, economic, history and literature. I believe that I should be much more diligent than before, or the poem will be what I can’t understand, the distance will be where I’ll never reach.
　　In the future, I hope I can travel a lot to see different parts of the word. Because I like the dessert, I like the sea, I like the sunrise, the sunset, I also like cultures among minorities. I will write what I experience and share them with everyone. I’m always prepared for the future and I like challenge!
